Symposium & Events

See the Line is officially launched — and we’re on our way to achieving our goals of supporting concussion research and awareness! A very special thank you to our donors, sponsors and volunteers — we couldn’t have done it without your generosity and support.

We were proud to have Eric Lindros as our Honourary Chair for See the Line. The inaugural events took place on August 14 and 15, 2013 and also featured renowned concussion researcher Dr. Ann McKee along with Canadian football notables Andy Fantuz and Greg Marshall.

More than 500 people attended the afternoon Education and Community Information Symposium, including medical experts and members of the broader community. Speakers were riveting and engaging, and those who attended learned more about these potentially life-altering injuries.

During the evening Gala, Eric Lindros, along with Andy Fantuz, Greg Marshall, Dr. Ann McKee, and Dr. Wai Ng, helped reinforce why this initiative is so important as they shared their thoughts and experiences during the informative 3M Armchair Discussion, moderated by TSN’s That’s Hockey host, Gino Reda.

The cause hit home during the Gala, when Matthew Creighton took the stage and shared his father, Dale’s, story. Many responded immediately to Matthew’s passionate appeal to join him in making a difference by making a donation — and we welcome your continued support as well.

The conversation continued the next day during the Golf Tournament on August 15 at Sunningdale Golf & Country Club. The tournament was specially designed to educate, and raise awareness and funds for this important cause.

Thank you to all those who were able to participate, we’d love your feedback to help us continue to build awareness and begin planning for future events. This is just the beginning; so check back often for stories, updates and upcoming events.
